Postpartum Depression
As an ever growing issue in society Postpartum Depression is seemingly taking a bigger hold as time moves on. Although it effects both men and women, women seem to be more prone to PPD. Although the causes are not fully understood most seem to feel that it comes from a Vitamin/Mineral deficiency. While other studies tend to show that more likely causes are the significant changes in a woman's hormones during pregnancy. Yet there is no proven correlation between hormones and postpartum mood disorders
Postpartum depression in some cases could possibly lead mothers to be inconsistent in childcare. Women diagnosed with postpartum depression often focus more on the negative events of childcare, resulting in poor coping strategies. The major change in life associated with childbirth has also been linked to Postpartum Depression.
